The West Tennessee Spring Fly-In was held Saturday May 22, 2004.  The event was sanctioned with the AMA and was open to all types of flying.  It was sunny and around 90 degrees with a strong wind, with gusts up to 30 mph.

Club Members worked during the week and all day Friday to prepare for the event.  The Field was in excellent shape and a lot of visitors commented on its fine condition.

We had about 40 registered pilots from many other clubs, including several pilots from Texas, Arkansas, and Ohio.  A $10 landing fee was charged.  The field was opened for flying a 9 a.m. with a pilots meeting at 9:30.  The flying started out slow but when a few pilots started to fly despite the wind, the flight line got busy for the rest of the day.  At one point there were about 30 spectator cars.

The club held a raffle for the winner's choice of a Futaba 9c Radio system with receiver and servos or a RTF Hobbico Nexstar trainer.  Tickets were sold at $5 each or 5 for $20.  117 tickets were sold and the drawing was held at about 4 o'clock.  Tim Morris won the raffle.

Food was served from breakfast until the middle afternoon.  Not only were there hotdogs and hamburgers but 30 pounds of the best homemade barbeque in town, which sold out.

The flying lasted into the middle afternoon when people started to pack up and make the trips back home.  No one was hurt throughout the day and there weren't any big crashes.  Everyone there had a lot of fun.
