The West Tennessee Spring Fly-In was held Saturday May 21, 2005.  The event was sanctioned with the AMA and was open to all types of flying.  It was sunny and around 80 degrees with a light breeze.

Club members worked during the week and all day Friday to prepare for the event.  The Field was in excellent shape and a lot of visitors commented on its fine condition.

We had 39 registered pilots, many from other clubs, including several pilots from Mississippi, Arkansas, and Kentucky.The pilots meeting was held at 9:30 and flying commenced immediately following, and the flight line was always active.

We also want to thank all of our sponsors for supporting our event.

The club held a raffle with an Avistar ARF Combo as the Grand Prize.  Additional prizes included over $400 worth of items donated by Hobbico, a delta wing ARF, and a  "Battle Axe SSC" Combat ARF.  Tim Morris won the Grand Prize.

Plaques were awarded for several distinctions.  Winners were:  Pat Finney for Best Military Scale, Jeff Layman for Best Civilian Scale, Rickey Gateley for Best Helicopter Flight, Frank Thill for Best Aerobatic Plane and Best Flight, and Kevin Green for Best of Show.

Thanks to all the hard workers who kept a supply of hotdogs, hamburgers, and brats coming.

The flying continued until dusk when people started to pack up and make the trips back home.Everyone there had a lot of fun.  The event went so well because of the hard work of many club members.  Thanks to everyone who helped make the day a great success and a lot of fun.
