The West Tennessee Radio Control Flyers' fourth annual West Tennessee Spring Fly-In was held Saturday May 19, 2007.  The event was sanctioned with the AMA and was open to all types of flying.  The day was sunny and around 75 degrees with a light breeze.

Club members worked during the week and all day Friday to prepare for the event.  The Field was in excellent shape and a lot of visitors commented on its fine condition.

37 registered pilots, many from other clubs, attended the event.  Included among the pilots were several from Mississippi, Kentucky, Illinois, and Texas. The pilots meeting was held at 9:15 and flying commenced immediately following, and the flight line was always very active all day long.

Watching all of the flying with interest were a large number of spectators.  Each year the club's event draws an ever-larger crowd.  The large sun-shade pavilion was open for spectators, who sat on the club's picnic tables and benches, or brought their own chairs.  As always, spectators were also free to walk along the yellow rope line anywhere they wanted to get an up-close look at the planes and equipment, and ask the pilots questions.

The West Tennessee R/C Flyers would also like to thank all it's our sponsors for supporting our event.

The club held a raffle open to all pilots and spectators.  Tickets were sold for a large pot of prizes, including a U-Can-Do 3D and numerous other donations from Great Planes Hobbico, and electric ARF from Discount Hobbies, gift certificates from Tower Hobbies and Sig, and other prizes donated by TreneffRC and Danny Wheeler

Nice framed cerificates were awarded for numerous distinctions:  Best Aerobatic, Best Civilian Scale, Best Military Scale, Best Helicopter, Best Electric, and Combat Ace, and best of show.

Such a busy day produced many hungry people, both pilots and spectators.  Thanks to Neil Linn and his wife, and Scott Hubble, who kept a supply of hotdogs, hamburgers, brats, and french fries available into the afternoon.

The flying continued until dusk when people started to pack up and make the trips back home.  Everyone who attended had a lot of fun.  The event went so well because of the hard work of many club members.  Thanks to everyone who helped make the day a great success and a lot of fun.

We wish to extend a big Thank You to all of the Pilots who drove many miles to participate in our event, and the spectators who came to watch, and we wish to see you all again next year, as usual, on the 3rd Saturday in May.

Thanks to Alex and Tim Treneff for submitting this event's pictures.  Please send any pictures of the event to webmaster@wtrcf.org.  Thank you.
